Mini-SpatulaEver so much more maneuverable than the big one!!
The scoop part is made of something like chicken-wire, and it has a long wooden handle which never lets hands get burnt. It is great for scooping things (like hush-puppies, etc.) out of hot oil...also for scooping anything out of any hot liquid.
This device works great! How else would we be able to pit cherries for pies. Great for when the kids are little and you want to make sure they don't swallow the cherry pits.
Extremely heavy-duty and unbreakable....works great for pounding/grinding spices when nothing else will work. Lister Deena says "I used to try to grind spices in a coffee grinder.....bad idea, bad experience!! This gadget was only 8 bucks, and works like a dream....has not been improved upon since the Neolithic!"
From CFFer Elsa, we received the following: "I have a new apple peeler. It's a wonderful instrument that will peel an apple and cut it into wedges, as well. It screws right onto to my built-in cutting board and is just as useful to peel quinces, which I like even more and use often. This is a light simple machine. The idea is simple and definitely not new. There were more patents for apple peelers in the years after the Civil War than for any other invention. They were useful and very lovely appliances with cut outs on the side--of hearts or flowers, diamonds or spades.
Elsa also shared: "I love my pressure cooker, too and find it invaluable. I don't use it every day
but at least two or three times a week. I can make soup in 20 minutes, stew in 25 minutes, a pot roast in 30 minutes, parboil meats or cook artichokes in less than 5 minutes. This is the full-sized Cuisinart, and Elsa says "I use it always to mince garlic, make avocado soup, shred cabbage for cole slaw, chop onions and a million other kitchen chores. The mini-Cuisinart does only about 1/4 as much.
This has jaws that can be opened to open large jars or closed to open screw top bottles. It works wonderfully.
This is a piece that screws onto any ordinary small jar. It has revolving chopping blades that chop nuts without mashing them or turning them to dust. The piece has a square metal top so that two or three tablespoons of nuts can be fed into the piece at each time.
Elsa also says: "I am also fond of my larger chopper that came along with a wooden bowl. This is
a two piece piece of equipment. The two blades alternate, spring fed. I use them to chop green olives and nuts for tea sandwiches, I chop pickles, olives, capers and onions to make thick vinaigrettes to go on top of steamed asparagus. This little hand-held item is so handy to have around. It actually uncrimps the can top instead of cutting into the metal. No metal shavings in the food, no sharp edges.
Promotes even heating and browning. Cooks biscuits & pizzas directly on the stone itself. Loaf breads, rolls or muffins, place pan on hot stone. For pizzas - makes crust crispy on bottom like no pizza pan ever has.
Lister Maureen tells us about her baking stones: "They are all natural and extremely pourous. Unlike synthetic stones, the pours are so small that they don't allow grease or other liquids to seap through. I wouldn't make pizza or bread without my stones. The stones retain heat thus baking at higher temperatures. Your crusts will be golden brown. Baking Stones come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Pampered Chef sells round and rectangular flat stones, most commonly used for pizza, a loaf pan and a variety of other sizes. The quality of your cooking will never be better."
Use all the different shapes not only for multi-layerd sandwich appetizers - but cut fruits, vegetables, cookies, mints, candies, even tea biscuits into these shapes like hearts, clovers, diamonds, etc.

Lister Nancy says "One of my favorite gadgets is a french fry maker (actually cutter) by
Progressive. I bought it because my kids love french fries and I can make them healthier in the oven than frying. You just put the potato in and press down on the handle, out come the fries cut perfectly! It sure beats slicing all those potato sticks by hand."
Spaghetti ClawThis device is so helpful when serving spaghetti. The claw is a wonderful invention which keeps the spaghetti from slithering off the spoon.
Susi Garlic PressCFFer Deena says "I would go nuts without my garlic press, I have had it for more than 20 years...it was made by "Susi" brand, I think it came from Germany, is very heavy-duty...I help it along a bit by slicing off the tough ends or tips of the bigger garlic cloves; it can handle the smaller ones; when I am done pressing, I scoop out the peel and discard."
The George Foreman Lean Mean Fat-Reducing Grilling Machine
We fondly refer to the "George Foreman Lean Mean Fat-Reducing Grilling Machine" as "George" on CFF. The George Foreman grill would be extremely useful for anybody, as there is no need to turn the food being grilled. It is basically fashioned on the same premise as a waffle iron. Put the food in, close the top, and remove when the food is done. There are no temperature controls to set. Simply plug in the grill, wait 5 minutes to ensure the grill is hot, and away you go.
A drip tray comes with the grill. Simply place this plastic, free-standing tray in front of the grill on the countertop. You do need to be sure that the tray is snug up against the grill, but often you can lay down a paper towel beneath the 2 front feet of the grill so that any fat that does not hit the tray will hit the towel and make counter cleaning less of a burden. When the food is ready all you do is *sweep* it onto your serving plate.
It cleans easily, though one wonders why George didn't allow us to remove the plates. However, wait till it cools down, then take the spatula and run it horizontally down the grooves, scraping off any cooked on debris. It will all fall into the drip tray. Then you can just wipe it with a damp cloth and it will be fine.

Lister Sarah shares with us some Pampered Chef items, starting with the stoneware. Here's what she says: "I don't bake on anything else. Everything comes out light and crispy, and evenly cooked. No need to grease your pans because with use, the stoneware becomes seasoned. I use the Flat Stoneware for baking cookies, pizzas, anything frozen such as fish, or chicken. I use the 9x13 for casseroles and cakes. I love this stone, best cakes I ever made. I use the Deep Dish Baker with the Stoneware Baking Bowl as a baker. I use the Deep Dish Baker as a top and put such food as Turkey Breasts, chickens, soup, stews etc. It retains the moiture of the food.
I can go on and on. But like I said, I would NEVER bake on anything else. Been using Stoneware now for about 4 years.Sarah continues: "Another one of my favorites is the Food Chopper. This large metal mallet has large teeth on one side and small ones on the opposite side. The two other sides are flat. All are interesting. When pounding a thick piece of meat, use the large teeth. It tenderizes without flattening. If, however, you desire to pound a thin piece such as a thin piece of veal, then use the side with small teeth. They both tenderize and flatten the meat. Use the flat side to pound fresh ginger (it falls into bits and adds flavor without lumps). Also use the flat side to smash a clove of garlic. It then takes just a second to mince it
This is a large metal basting tool with a rubber ball. Stick it into a roaster without having the end melt. It's made like the plastic ones but the long hollow end is made of metal. The rubber bowl can be removed and washed so that the tool stays clean.
The knife has serrations on both sides and the tip is curved. With the grapefruit knife it takes seconds to cut loose the sections in a grapefruit half.
This tool looks like a joke hypodermic needle. All together the piece is about 6" long. It's used for shooting wines or other flavoring liquids into meats without making an unpleasantly large hole in the meat. Marinate dried fruits in wine and then shoot the liquid into pork roasts. The new leaner pork isdelicious when basted from the inside as well as the outside and then roasted.
This double decker steamer also doubles as a rice steamer. Vegetables, rice, fish, and meats all cook to perfection in this steamer. The nice thing about this steamer is the large baskets and the double-decker baskets allow for steaming two different things at once, or large servings. Model #4720
